The driver of a car that flipped over on Fernwood Road at about 3 p.m. today is being treated at a local hospital.

According to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service Capt. Oscar Garcia, the car flipped over landing on its roof near a home in the 10000 block of Fernwood Road in Bethesda. The car came to rest near a home, but not touching it, he said.

Fire and rescue personnel spent 30 minutes extricating the driver from the vehicle, Garcia said.  

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
